Vanessa Hudgens takes break from music.

Vanessa Hudgens has revealed that she is "taking a break" from music in order to concentrate on her film career.

The High School Musical star, who has released two albums, told MTV News that she wants to step away from albums and musicals.

"I'm kind of taking a break from music right now," she explained.

"I'm just focusing on films and acting. I feel like when I'm doing something, I really want to focus on that and try to not spread myself all over the place."

She added: "I love musicals, I really do. I grew up doing them, so it'll always have a place in my heart... at the same time, it's nice to be able to separate the two and just be able to focus on films."

Hudgens is currently shooting the fairytale-inspired Beastly alongside Alex Pettyfer and Mary-Kate Olsen.

Chris Brown will not go to Jail.

Chris Brown will not go to jail, but has finally been sentenced over his attack on Rihanna back in February. Read a full report about the hearing here:

R&B star CHRIS BROWN has avoided a jail spell after he pleaded guilty to assaulting his ex-girlfriend RIHANNA.
He made the plea just hours before the former couple was due to come face to face in court in Los Angeles.

Brown, 20, was ordered to serve 180 hours community service in his home state of Virginia and told he must stay away from Rihanna.

He will also serve five years probation for felony assault, and his progress with be monitored by the court at regular intervals.

The singer was also made to enrol in a domestic violence counselling program, according to US website TMZ.com.

Shocking pics, released earlier this year, showed how Rihanna had been left beaten and bruised following a fight with her ex on the evening of the Grammy awards in February.

The Caribbean-born songstress arrived at court dressed in all black, a sign she may have been expecting the worst.

A bystander said: "It looked as if she was going to a funeral."

Whitney Houston - The Wait Is Over

It's the news the whole world is talking about. Whitney Houston is gearing up for her biggest comeback yet. Billboard.com gives a full report about Whitney's upcoming album "The Wait Is Over":

The wait is over -- Whitney Houston is finally making her comeback on Sept. 1 with an as-yet-untitled album on Arista Records. For her return, the label has set up a countdown on the New Jersey-bred artist's official site, WhitneyHouston.com, which will also preview selected tracks slated to appear on the album in coming weeks.

Producers and songwriters said to aid with the set include will.i.am, Sean Garrett and Akon, although there is no confirmation on whether a duet with Akon, "Like I Never Left," which leaked last year, will make the cut.

"The voice is there; I don't think anyone could ever take that from her. As long as we apply that voice to hit records, she'll be right back where she left off," Akon told Billboard.com back in 2007.

Houston made her first high-profile public appearance at her mentor Clive Davis' pre-Grammy gala back in February, where she performed a four-song set that included brief renditions of "I Will Always Love You" and "I Believe in You and Me" plus a tent revival-style take on "I'm Every Woman."

Houston has been dogged in recent years by drug and health issues -- including rehab stints in 2004 and 2005 -- a legal dispute with her father, John Houston, rumored financial problems and a troubled marriage to fellow singer Bobby Brown that ended in divorce.

Houston's last album was 2002's "Just Whitney," which sold 737,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Susan Boyle admitted to hospital.

The wonderful Susan Boyle has admitted to a clinc/hospital after suffering from exhaustion. It's no wonder really, after Susan's ordeal of the past 7 weeks - I hope she gets well soon and proves to the world why we fell in love with her.

Internet singing star Susan Boyle has been admitted to a private clinic after being beaten into second place in the final of the popular "Britain's Got Talent" television contest, media reported.

Boyle, 48, had been heavily backed to beat nine other finalists late on Saturday after clips of her first appearance on the show in April were downloaded nearly 200 million times and she was hailed the world over as a superstar.

But according to The Sun newspaper, Boyle suffered an "emotional breakdown" at her hotel in London on Sunday.

A police spokesman confirmed that officers had been called to a London hotel "to doctors attending a woman under the mental health act."

"She was taken voluntarily by ambulance to a clinic. At the request of doctors, police accompanied the ambulance," the spokesman added.

Despite expectations that Boyle would make a fortune from her talent and almost instant fame, there has been concern among show organizers about her ability to cope with pressure.

Boyle, who was starved of oxygen at birth leading to minor brain damage, has been pursued by the world's press since early April and, according to show judge Piers Morgan, broke down in tears repeatedly during the run-up to the final.

Nearly four million people phoned in to choose a winner, and street dance troupe Diversity won 24.9 percent of the vote ahead of Boyle's 20.2 percent.

Amerie gears up 4th studio album

Amerie is gearing up to release her 4th studio "In Love & War". Billboard.com reveals some details about the new Amerie set...

After a two-year hiatus, singer/songwriter Amerie has announced the release of her Def Jam debut, "In Love & War," which will be available in August. The lead single, "Why R U," will be serviced June 15th, with an accompanying video directed by Ray Kay (The-Dream, Lady Gaga) premiering June 8th on BET.

Producers on the album include Teddy Riley, Sean Garrett, Eric Hudson, Jim Jonsin, Rico Love and The Buchanans, who helmed the first single -- the track that allegedly made Def Jam labelhead Antonio "L.A." Reid reconsider dropping Amerie from the label just last month. So far, no collaborations have been announced.

"In Love & War" is the Washington DC-natives fourth album, and follows her Columbia records debut, "All I Have" and her Sony releases "Touch" and "Because I Love It," which was released in Europe. "All I Have" sold 661,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan, while "Touch" sold 406,000.

Michael Jackson's thoughts on his 50 date tour...

NME.com has reported the following news about Michael Jackson's thoughts on his upcoming 50 date residency at the O2...

Michael Jackson has hit out at his London O2 Arena gig bookers, saying he believed he only signed up to play 10 shows - not the 50 he is scheduled for - at the venue.

Speaking to fans outside the Los Angeles dance studio where he's rehearsing for the gigs, the singer admitted that he might not be physically well enough to complete all 50 shows, reports The Sun.

"I don't know how I'm going to do 50 shows," he said of the gigs, which kick off in July. "I'm not a big eater - I need to put some weight on."

The star then laid into the gig promoters, saying he only wanted to play ten shows at the O2 Arena.

"I'm really angry with them booking me up to do 50 shows," he said. "I only wanted to do ten, and take the tour around the world to other cities, not 50 in one place.

"I went to bed knowing I sold 10 dates, and woke up to the news I was booked to do 50."

Randy Phillips, head of promoters AEG, who organised the gigs, refuted Jackson's claim that he was not originally fully aware of the length of the residency.

"This is not true," he said in a statement. "The size and scale of this show would not be possible without an extended run which Michael has been fully on board with from the very beginning."
